OK not really. This was not the smallest in the US, but its by far the smallest we city-folk have seen to date. At 330pm, they appeared to be open. Stef went inside, lights were on and there were approximately 100 rent-a-box mailboxes inside. We mailed our nephew Clayton a postcard from Florida at this post office. :)
We are driving on the northwest coast of Florida, passed some interesting things along the way. After our dissappointing side track earlier, we've plunged forward on our search for the Smallest Police Station in the US. Let's hope its also a low crime area. ;-)
We have seen many young women on the street with large oaktag signs which read "CAR WASH" and have recently passed two young ladies with signs that read "HONK 4 JESUS." That was a new one for us. Otherwise, just passing lots of trees: many of them of the palm variety.
What a crapshoot. The Orange shaped Building was PITiful and the "giant" golf ball was not so big...

We found the Boston Lobster Feast car outside of Target and had to photo and blog the lobster car :)
Well, we've left our family in Boca and are headed North. Since it was so hard to leave we've picked some fun attractions to see. First stop: giant golf ball. Also, orange shaped building, possibly a chinese themed supermarket (not an asian/chinese market like we all know, this one is a Winn-Dixie with kites). Last stop will be the Worlds Smallest Police Station, then its off to set up camp in the panhandle. :)
Today, Stef made blintzes for breakfast for Aunt Marcia, Uncle Bob, Grandma and ourselves. They were scrumptious. After, we played Apples to Apples (fuuuun game) and Rummikub (also super fun). Then we hung around for a little while and Grandma took us out for lunch. We went to Duffys - apparently one of her favorite places - and it was delicious. (The Above photo is of Duffys.) We took her out after that for some of the best frozen yogurt at a place called Allegria. Then we came back home and hung around again, figured out our plans for the morning. Following that, we went to Uncle Pauls to get him and cousin Danielle. The four of us went to the ice rink to watch Danielle play "stick and puck" - basically like practice stuff on the ice it seemed to us. It was fun to watch. Also fun to watch crazy Floridians wear sweatshirts to the ice rink. ;)
Lastly, we met up with Aunt Jess and cousin Michael at Olive Garden for dinner. DELICIOUS..
It was sad to say goodbye to everyone at the end of the night, but we like to think of it more like "see you later."
Going to miss Florida...
For dinner tonight we went to Sonnys Famous Steak Hoagies with our friend Yudiel, as featured on Guy Fieri's Diners Drive-ins and Dives. YUMMMM

We are at the Festival Flea Market, spending the day window shopping. Sarah bought sun glasses and Stef bought a mah jongg card to support her newest addiction. Later we will be getting together with our friend Yudiel for dinner. :)
Almost the whole family was here and we had a great time! We had good food, good chatter and some of the best company around! Aunt Marcia throws a wonderful last minute party and we are super appreciative of her opening her house not just for our sleeping purposes, but also to have everyone here so we could see them all. Family is wonderful, treasure them!
Otherwise, we played rummikub at grandmas and Stef learned mah jong tonight with Anna and some others. We spent some of the day at Grandmas, the rest at Aunt Marcias. It was relaxing, but not boring, fun but not requiring overly crazy amounts of energy, and we definately ate enough!!
Got our ticket!! Not an automated system here, but rather a real live breathing speaking smiling person!
Stef is still driving, doing well on energy and time, but she doesn't like to let me take a "candid" photo.
We have officially entered the state of Florida! 5 hours and 30 minutes from now we should be in Boca!!!

following a delicious bbq dinner, we get free entertainment while digesting and getting rready for dessert. he's really good (I'm not just saying that because he's my nephew)

Sans tent, here's where we spent the night. 6 am wakeup (for Stef that means just over an hours sleep), 630 take off! Southbound!!
it has dropped two degrees, as we stare out the top of our tent. well, sarah will blog first while stefanie reads earlier posts.. to bed, up at 6!
its 93 at 1030pm. stef still has a smile, despite the buckets of sweat dripping off both of us
its dark out, but our tent is setup and we've just eaten dinner. now we relax, walk, change, read, sleep, then its back on the road!

Currently in NJ, passed Perth Amboy a few minutes ago. We are trying to go as far south as possible, before sunset, and possibly camp if we find an area that's worthy. Otherwise, we hotel it. :)

Getting on the thruway to hopefully get through some of this rain quickly... saw the Circle Museum on our way so far... was pouring, we didn't walk the outdoor grounds.
We are playing the License Plate game! There are few rules, but they are important ones. 1. No plate can be called if you are currently IN that state. 2. Trucks are to be written on the back and only used at the end of the trip, should you be missing that state. 3. No plate can be called which is placed on, or belongs to, a family/friends car.

We are just about done getting packed and ready! Stef spent most of the afternoon cleaning while Sarah did the laundry. Now that clothing is clean, they can be packed. after this: last minute shopping stuff, clean out the fridge, etc. etc.
Though it looks better than before, there is much more stuff piled here... Stef spent a long while organizing it :)
We are getting closer to leave day!! Here's our first pile of stuff to sort and whatnot... :) busy days ahead!
